‘Deliver Me’ to a motion picture deal

Three months ago I blogged about ‘interactive media’ and how social media is fast learning from the gaming world. One example I gave was the interactive viral ‘Deliver me to Hell’. Here, the character must deliver pizza in an apocalypse zombie world. The viewer is faced with decisions, which ultimately decide whether the characters live or die.

Well It turns out that we weren’t the only ones impressed with Hell Pizza’s strategy. Recent news has surfaced that the Video’s creator (Logan McMillan) has landed a motion picture deal with Camelot Entertainment.

“I’ve worked with Logan on his first movie so I know his talent. When he pitched us the idea, it was too creative and refreshing to pass up. It might even be the beginning to a new line of interactive films for Camelot.”
Jessica Kelly, Co-President of CDG.

This is a great example of how the film format can change. How long will it be until a cinema audience are asked to make a decision that will affect the film they are viewing? and would it work? At present I feel the only interactive push within the film industry is 3D. But aren’t we all bored of 3D? I know I am, and I know Phil (Quick Feet boss) keeps harping on about how it failed twice before and that no-one will wear glasses etc… he’s probably right! Being optimistic, I’d like to think this is a great opportunity for film to change and adapt to a more interactive savvy audience.

If you’ve still not seen or ‘played’ Deliver me to Hell, you can so here.
